THE YARD DETAIL TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective Date: November 1, 2026

These Terms of Service apply to dog waste removal services provided by The Yard Detail. By signing up for service, agreeing to a recurring service plan, or allowing service to begin, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

The Yard Detail provides residential dog waste removal, including weekly recurring service, twice-monthly recurring service, and one-time cleanups.

Service generally includes removal of visible and reasonably accessible dog waste from the agreed service area of the property.

Waste that is buried, frozen, covered by snow, leaves, vegetation, debris, standing water, or otherwise not reasonably visible or accessible may remain until conditions allow it to be safely removed.

2. Property Size and Pricing

Standard published pricing applies to residential yards up to 1/2 acre unless otherwise stated.

Recurring service for yards larger than 1/2 acre may be subject to an additional charge. Yards over 1 acre, properties with more than four dogs, unusually difficult properties, and unusually heavy or seasonal accumulation may require a custom quote.

If the actual property conditions differ materially from the information provided during signup, The Yard Detail may provide a revised quote before performing additional work.

3. Service Frequency and Scheduling

Weekly service is generally performed once per service week.

Twice-monthly service is generally performed two times per calendar month.

The Yard Detail assigns service days based on routing and availability. A specific arrival time is not guaranteed.

Service days may occasionally change because of weather, holidays, route changes, emergencies, or other operational needs.

Your service does not begin until The Yard Detail confirms your start date.

4. Free Initial Cleanup With Weekly Service

New customers who begin weekly recurring service receive one free standard initial cleanup per property.

A standard initial cleanup means a cleanup of a property up to 1/2 acre, with up to four dogs, and an amount of accumulated waste that can reasonably be handled during a normal initial visit.

Heavy, seasonal, long-neglected, or otherwise unusually labor-intensive accumulation may require a custom quote.

If an additional charge would be required, The Yard Detail will notify you before performing the work. You may decline the additional work.

There is no minimum service commitment associated with the free standard initial cleanup.

5. Customer Responsibilities and Access

Customers are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the service area.

Gates must be unlocked or otherwise accessible on the scheduled service day unless another arrangement has been approved.

Customers must promptly notify The Yard Detail of changes affecting access, the number of dogs at the property, or other information relevant to service.

If The Yard Detail arrives as scheduled but cannot perform service because of a locked or inaccessible gate, unsecured animal, blocked entrance, or another condition within the customer's control, that visit may still count as a scheduled visit under the customer's service plan.

6. Dogs and Other Animals

Dogs must be safely secured during service unless The Yard Detail has specifically agreed otherwise.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about their dogs and any known behavioral or safety concerns.

The Yard Detail may decline to enter a yard or discontinue a visit if a dog or other animal presents a safety concern.

A visit prevented by an unsecured or unsafe animal may still count as a scheduled visit.

7. Gates and Fences

The Yard Detail will make a reasonable effort to close and physically check gates after service.

Customers remain responsible for maintaining gates, fences, latches, locks, and related property features in safe working condition.

The Yard Detail is not responsible for problems caused by pre-existing damage, defective or improperly installed gates or fences, frozen or malfunctioning latches, or other conditions outside its reasonable control.

Customers should report any gate or property concern as soon as possible so it can be reviewed promptly.

8. Waste Disposal

Unless another arrangement has been approved, collected dog waste will be securely bagged and placed in the customer's designated outdoor garbage container.

Customers are responsible for providing reasonable access to that container when on-site disposal is part of the service.

If The Yard Detail later offers and agrees to haul waste away from the property, separate charges or terms may apply.

9. Weather, Snow, and Winter Service

The Yard Detail operates year-round.

Snow, ice, frozen ground, heavy rain, flooding, extreme weather, poor visibility, or other unsafe conditions may delay, limit, or prevent normal service.

During winter conditions, The Yard Detail will remove waste that is visible, accessible, and reasonably removable. Waste buried under snow or frozen to the ground will be addressed when conditions allow.

Recurring monthly billing continues at the normal rate during winter unless service is paused or canceled. Temporary snow cover or frozen waste does not automatically result in a credit because accumulated waste remains part of the cleanup workload once conditions improve.

If The Yard Detail completely misses a scheduled visit for reasons within its control and cannot reasonably make up the visit, an appropriate credit may be provided.

10. Recurring Plans and Automatic Renewal

Weekly and twice-monthly services are continuous recurring service plans that continue from month to month until canceled.

Recurring plans are billed at a fixed monthly price. Weekly customers pay the same monthly rate whether a particular calendar month contains four or five scheduled service weeks.

Before recurring service is purchased, the customer will be shown the recurring price, billing frequency, cancellation terms, and available cancellation methods.

Recurring service will not begin without the customer's affirmative consent to the recurring billing arrangement.

After signup, the customer will receive an acknowledgment of the recurring-service terms in a form that can be retained.

11. Sales Tax

Applicable New York sales tax will be collected as required by law.

The Yard Detail's website may display prices with applicable sales tax already included for convenience.

Invoices, receipts, or payment records may separately identify the sales-tax portion of the amount charged.

12. Payment and Billing

Recurring customers authorize The Yard Detail and its payment processor to charge the payment method on file according to the billing schedule disclosed during signup.

Recurring service is billed on a fixed monthly basis using the plan selected by the customer.

One-time services are billed according to the price or custom quote accepted by the customer.

Payment-card information is handled by third-party payment processors, including Stripe. The Yard Detail does not directly store full payment-card numbers.

Customers are responsible for keeping their payment information current.

Failed or declined payments may result in suspension of service until the balance is resolved.

13. Cancellation and Pausing Service

There is no long-term contract.

Recurring service may be canceled at any time.

Customers who sign up online will be provided a simple online cancellation method that is at least as easy to use as the signup process. Cancellation will also be available through each medium through which The Yard Detail allows customers to provide consent to recurring service, as required by applicable law.

Cancellations completed before the next billing date will prevent the next recurring charge. Service may continue through the end of any service period already paid for.

Amounts already billed for a current service period are generally nonrefundable once that service period has begun, except where required by law or where The Yard Detail determines that a refund or credit is appropriate.

Temporary pauses may be available by request. Advance notice is appreciated whenever possible.

14. Missed or Prevented Visits

If The Yard Detail misses a scheduled visit for reasons within its control, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule the visit or provide an appropriate credit.

If a visit cannot be completed because the customer failed to provide access, failed to secure an animal, or created another condition that prevents safe service, the visit may still count toward the customer's service plan and may not qualify for a refund or credit.

15. Heavy Accumulation and Changed Conditions

Recurring pricing assumes ordinary ongoing accumulation based on the number of dogs and property information disclosed by the customer.

The Yard Detail may stop or postpone work and provide a revised quote when actual conditions are materially different from those disclosed during signup.

Examples include substantially heavier accumulation than reasonably expected, undisclosed dogs, unusually large service areas, significant debris, unsafe conditions, or other circumstances that materially increase the work required.

No additional quoted work will be performed without the customer's approval.

16. Property Conditions and Damage

The Yard Detail will use reasonable care while performing service.

Customers are responsible for identifying or correcting known hazards such as holes, unstable surfaces, sharp objects, exposed wiring, fragile landscaping, unsafe structures, damaged fencing, or other conditions that could reasonably create a risk of injury or property damage.

The Yard Detail is not responsible for ordinary wear, pre-existing damage, hidden defects, or damage caused by conditions outside its reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

17. Communications

Customers may receive service-related communications by email, telephone, text message, customer portal, or other communication methods selected during signup.

These communications may include scheduling information, service-completion notices, billing information, account information, access issues, and other messages related to the customer's service.

Message and data rates may apply to text messages.

Customers may opt out of text messages by following the opt-out instructions provided with those messages, including replying STOP where applicable.

Customers are responsible for keeping their contact information current.

18. Changes to Pricing or Terms

The Yard Detail may update its pricing, service policies, service area, or these Terms from time to time.

Customers with recurring service will receive clear notice of any material change, including a price increase, at least five business days and no more than thirty days before the change takes effect, as required by applicable law.

The Yard Detail generally intends to provide approximately 14 days' notice when practical.

If an increased price is charged without the customer's prior affirmative consent to that increased price, the customer will have at least 14 days after the charge to cancel, and any refund required by applicable law will be provided on a pro-rata basis for the unused portion of the service period.

Customers who do not wish to continue after a material change may cancel service using the available cancellation methods.

19. Termination by The Yard Detail

The Yard Detail may discontinue or refuse service when reasonably necessary.

Reasons may include unsafe conditions, threatening or abusive conduct, repeated access problems, repeated nonpayment, inaccurate or misleading information about the property or animals, or circumstances that make continued service unsafe or impractical.

Any valid outstanding balance remains due following termination.

20. Privacy

Customer information is handled according to The Yard Detail's Privacy Policy.

Information may be shared with third-party service providers as reasonably necessary to operate the business, including customer-management, scheduling, communications, website hosting, email, and payment-processing providers.

The Privacy Policy is available at:

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

To the extent permitted by law, disputes relating to these Terms or services provided by The Yard Detail will be governed by applicable New York law and handled in an appropriate court located in Monroe County, New York.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any service selection, accepted quote, Privacy Policy, recurring-billing disclosure, and other terms presented during signup, constitute the agreement between the customer and The Yard Detail concerning the services provided.
